The Isle of Mull is an island off the West Coast of Scotland, reachable by ferry from Oban. There are few cars but also few roads, so during reasonable hours hitching can be quite fast. On arrival to the main ferry port in Craignure you will easily be able to hitchhike almost anywhere on the island via the single track ring road. Thanks to all the arrivals coming off the ferries there is a steady stream of traffic during the day, however any time after around 5 or 6 at night you will find the roads get very quiet and it becomes extremely hard to get a lift. Both locals and visitors are usually quite happy to pick people up and trusting thanks to the way of island life.

The biggest town on Mull is Tobermory, which has toilet, shower and laundry facilities in the harbor (neither free nor expensive).
