Get the metro ''Teremky'' (ТЕРЕМКИ) station (last one on blue line). Walk 700 m southwest and you'll find a police post, you can just hitchhike behind this post as there is a large area for cars to stop. There is traffic light before it so make sure drivers can see you while waiting for green light. But take care, drivers tend to use the parking lane to overtake slow traffic along the road! Also sometimes truck drivers park there for few hours.
Alternativly you can take a train to Bila Tserkva (less than 1€ for a ticket) which is ~100km south of Kiev, get off at the last stop and you will be right by the highway to Odessa and have a nice forest near just in case you want to camp for the night. Tried this on the summer of 2018. Stadas
