Catch any bus which goes towards the Central Nueva de Autobuses (the new bus station), for example the 275 diagonal which you can take on Avenida 16 de Septiembre in the city center. As you approach very near of the central, you'll see the freeway so get down there, or else from the central walk downhill until you hit the freeway. You'll see a very high Burger King sign, there's a huge parking lot, a gas station, and a lot of stores around it. Ask around in the lot or thumb at the exit of the gas station for a ride to the toll booth (spanish: un ride a la siguiente caseta) which is 10 minutes east by car. If your ride isn't going any further your direction get off at the toll booth. Excellent spot to hitchhike, people driving out are headed to all sorts of places!

{{nomadwiki}}Public transport in Guadalajara is far below the standard of [[Mexico City]]. The bus system is old with antiquated vehicles and bus-stops don't contain any useful information or are often missing completely. In general a bus ride costs 7 pesos but there are some that charge more. There are two metro lines the third line is under construction. The website [http://www.buscaturuta.com/ buscaruta.com] is absolutely indispensable for finding your way around, even for the locals. Whilst the lack of decent public transportation is a constant frustration it does mean that the locals we be more sympathetic towards hitch-hikers.
