Fruup, Maybe there is some cheap local transport to one of the big Peages North or South? I hitched from [http://maps.hitchwiki.org/?lat=45.75203615051946&lng=4.8329758644104&zoom=17&trip=0&view=0 here] and it wasn't bad, so don't get scared! Lyon is not that horrible.
