Our Story
2 guys, Kiwi & British, currently hitching across south of Turkey towards Syria. Absolutely no problems finding rides, haven't waited for more than 30 mins for a lift. Everyone's very generous and will usually offer to buy us food etc. or will invite us to do what they're doing for the day (beach, picnics, etc.). Would like to add thumbs to the Turkish map, but google maps doesnt work in Turkey. If someone else wants to do it, we got rides in Bodrum, Akyaka, Ortaca, Fethiye, Saklikent, Kas, Olympos, Antalya, Konya, Goreme, Kayseri, Sivas, Trabzen. Will update this as we go. Also, creating/updating pages as I can --Alecofnz 14:22, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
:East of Fethiye along Mediterranean coast is harder territory, at least that was so in my experience—expect waits up to two hours under the scorching sun of Alanya and Anamur. I hope you'd have a better luck, though. :) And please don't forget to update/create relevant town articles when you are back at home (or while on the go, if possible). :We didn't experience that at all, Vidimian.. Apart from one time when we were on the wrong road, and going somewhere that no one goes to, the longest we waited for a rides was about 45 minutes. --81.214.70.50 13:38, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
