People are not supposed to freely talk to foreigners so it is highly unlikely that you will be able to hitchhike in Myanmar.True, the government is not too nice here, but it is still very possible to hitch hike in Burma (Myanmar) as I did a lot of hitching during my months visit here in 2008. Trucks is your best bet, but you can try just about everything :)
