== Law ==Sec. 53-181. Soliciting rides in motor vehicles. Any person who, while on or within the limits of the traveled portion of any public highway, solicits a ride in a motor vehicle, other than a public service motor bus or taxicab, except in case of accident or emergency, shall be deemed to have committed an infraction and be fined thirty-five dollars, except that any person may, while on or within the shoulder portion of any public highway, except a limited access highway, solicit such a ride.
