I just recently began hitchhiking in April of 2013 as a means to travel the country for cheaply and see meet new people. Over the course of 3.5 weeks I made my way from MO, through Arkansas and all of eastern Texas, over to New Orleans, LA, all the way to Jacksonville, FL, then back through Atlanta, GA, Tennessee, and St. Louis (a total of over 3,200 miles hitchhiked). It was a wonderful experience, and I met many people who treated me kindly. I never felt in danger once. I look forward to hitting the road once more on foot and seeing where else the wind and people's kindness will take me.
This picture is of me in Weaver, TXa one gas station exit in the middle of the great plains of Texas with an abandoned old service station. I rode for about twenty miles down the interstate in the back of a dude's truck drinking a cold beer, and eventually arrived here.[[File:450px-WeaverTX450pxWeaverTX.jpeg]]
