Thanks Guaka! I just began hitching recently but have just spent nearly a month touring around the southeastern United States and have lots to add, and I will be doing so as time allows. I got cited there, and the cop said it was Davidson County protocol to cite anyone attempting to hitchhike regardless of where they were standing. See the article I wrote afterward.
