When arriving from Augustow, if driver doesn't go any further than Suwałki, a great spot ask him to get out is immediately leave you at the beginning of Shell petrol station inside the town. At the first roundaboutFrom there, all traffic for Lithuania is taking you can walk less than a kilometre to the first exit, which is followed by end of town and hitchhike further from a huge bus stop immediately. A sign (LT) will be very helpful and you should usually catch rides to Kaunas or further here easily. This spot Avoid being dropped off at the beginning of town, where the bypass road splits off, because there is also perfect nowhere there for night hitchhiking. There's a petrol station as well for the communicative hitchhiker, but it is definitely worth hitchhiking at the bus stop as all traffic coming from the South passes herecar to pull over.
It could be also an idea to hitch The road enters Lithuania at the end of town at the twoBudzisko-lane roadKalvarija border crossing, though traffic is much faster there already and where long-distance rides further into the author of this article currently has no idea if there Baltic countries are any good spots for hitchhikingpossible.
South towards Augustow, Warszawa 67
At the end of town, at the roundabout described above, there's some space to stop cars going south, but little light available, depending on the spot/visibility you want to choose when hitchhiking at night.
