There are two hostels in Hannover: An [http://www.hostelhannover.de independent] one for EUR 15/night and one of [http://www.hihostels.com/ hostelling international] for EUR 25/night.
For a travel stop the're is a campsite 30 min. walk from the parking place of the highway (Autobahn rasthof Garbsen). You can stay at the campsite (€12,-) or in front of the campsite, between the campers (free)
