There are two ways to get to Klaipėda from Panevėžys: going through Šiauliai or going towards Kaunas and getting out by the turn http://goo.gl/maps/KpsF to highway Kaunas-Klaipėda(E85,A1) and getting another ride.

It's up to you to choose. I prefer going towards Kaunas and switching the ride. This route is only 33km (20.5 miles) longer, but you will have to change rides less often as most people in the motorway are heading towards Klaipėda.
