Hi sweet people :)

I've never hitchhiked before. So this is the first time I plan my trip from Singapore to Malaysia, I will hitchhike in Malay from Johor Bahru to Penang (where my friend is living there), Malacca, KL. I need your advice and experience. So teach me how to hitchhike in Malay, so far, I haven't draw any map or write more details about this trip, because my friend and I haven't got time to sit down to discuss.Hope to hear from sweet people out there to help :-D

  • Malaysia is one of the easiest countries I have ever hitched in. From Johor Bahru to Penang you just need to take the E2 and E1. Try to take a route around KL to avoid problems there. Everyone speaks English and will probably want to leave you at the bus station. Just tell them to leave you at a service station before they turn off. There is nothing else to advise, just go and do it!Haggismn 10:09, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi, the article mentions that hitchhiking is known by locals as "Tumpang". Does anybody know how locals hail cars for tumpang? Do they understand the thumb?

Thanks a lot.Wanderer765 (talk) 17:14, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
