Quezaltenengo or Xela is a city in the highlands of Guatemala more popularly known by it's indigenous name Xela (shell-a), buses and such will display this name.

If you're going somewhere along the Panamerican Highway (East or West) it's better to take a bus to Cuatro Caminos (3Q in July 2013, leaving from the market) and start hitching from there. Ron tried to hitch from within Xela and didn't work out. He ended up paying 5Q (~0.50€) for the bus to 4 Caminos. Found a ride within 30 minutes.
