The reason why the finish line of the 888 project was set up at the Palais de Tokyo is partly because of the story associated with the name Tokyo.
Before the 888 project was organized, there were a large number of signs regarding Tokyo:

On December 2nd, 2007, Pascal Dumont and Fabrice Renucci, respectively from Quebec and France, drew a "[[Tokyo|TOKYO]]" hitchhiking sign to get back to Lille, France from Rotterdam, the Netherlands...
