As an alternative to the overpriced Nottingham buses it is fairly easy to thumb a lift on the A52 heading west at one of the areas to pull in after the QMC hospital roundabout.
An alternative route to get on the M1 is the Esso garage on the edge of Clifton, where drivers are often preparing to make long journeys North, or South to London. Easily accessible by tram, you can stand at the exit of the garage or in the adjacent McDonalds exit.
