::As for most continents/countries, we so far used the United Nations Statistic Division, which seems to be a quite reliable categorization for the world. There, some part of the Middle East can be found under Western Asia, some part as Northern Africa. So in fact, they are not even mentioning the Middle East, but use the continents for categorization. For me, this division is the most logical. For most of it, we already did it at Western Asia and Northern Africa. --Platschi 11:30, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

::: If I understood you right, we keep on categorizing countries primarily by Western Asia and such but not by Middle East which is very puzzling according to the map: ---->----------------->---------------->----------------------------->---------------------------->
::: Anyways, I think we can continue keeping :Category:Middle East and Middle East page and categorize by it in addition to main categories :Category:Western Asia, :Category:Northern Africa, :Category:Eastern Africa, :Category:Southern Asia and :Category:Central Asia (these unite all the countries in the Middle East by any definition of a latter one). However, if we want to use Middle East in the IsIn template, then creating :Category:Middle East (Asia) and :Category:Middle East (Africa) would be inevitable as otherwise it will be showing that Middle East is only in either Africa or Asia. So, I see we can either restrain from using Middle East within IsIn template, or create these categories and use them accordingly.--Sigurdas 17:05, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
