The '''A1''' is a 127-kilometer partially built motorway linking [[Bucureşti]], the capital of [[Romania]], with [[PiteştiNădlac-Nagylak_border_crossing|Nădlac]], a city one of the two border crossing points to Hungary, where it melts over in the Argeş County[[M43]]. It passes [[Piteşti]], [[Sibiu]], [[Orăștie]], [[Deva]], [[Lugoj]], [[Timișoara]] and [[Arad_(Romania)|Arad]]. The A1 was the first freeway to be built in Romania, constructed in the 1960s during the communist regime and is constantly upgraded in since 2000.
