The A8 crosses southern Germany in East-West-direction.
Coming from Luxemburg, it passes Saarbrücken, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Ulm, Augsburg, Munich, Rosenheim and splits into the Austrian motorways A1 and A10 in Salzburg.
The A8 is crossing the A5 next to Karlsruhe and the A81 south of Stuttgart
There is a gap between Saarbrücken and Karlsruhe.
