Austria is a good country for hitchhiking. On the Motorways, you can easily "hop" from city to city. Good places are gas stations. When hitchhiking to Hungary, it is very recommended to stand in the entrance of the gas stations holding a sign anb being visible for people on the road as well as the people who is coming to the gas station. That will stop a lot of nice and friendly Hungarian people.
It is surrounded by Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Liechtenstein and Italy.
