Hitchhiking in Belize did not appear difficult but expect that a small token payment may be exchanged. Public transport is inexpensive but quite slow considering the size of the country.

The distance into the sleepy little town is too far to walk and the local bus into the town is quite infrequent. It is likely that you will come across locals at the shack on the corner who are waiting for the bus.
