Bergen

Greater Bergen or Bergen Metropolitan Area as defined by Statistics Norway, which includes rural areas, has a population of 377,116 as of January 2010.

The extensive network of tunnels make hitching out of city impossible.You may like to try to get a ride from the city center.Behind the central bus station there is the goods terminal of Schenker. If you do not want to take a bus or train out of the city you would still try your chance at traffic lights and hopefuly succeed but I have never met someone has!

In stead of all of that fighting your way out of the city you can take a bus or train to Arna or Takvam and hitchhike just before the E16 and RV 7 meet.There is a bus station where cars can pull over easily since they slow down for the forthcoming roundabout.There is a good flow of trafic even in winter.But in case If that doesn't work you may still try the turist info&fast food place across the highway.I would recommend you should take rides at least to Voss where you can continue further.
