Go to the main bus station and ask for the bus that goes to the limits of a nearby city called Gaspar. There is a bus line that goes just to a gas station between the two cities. From the gas station it is not the easiest thing to get out of there, because locals are not very friendly and drivers don´t usually go very far. Alex and Bin got very lucky, because a guy from Rio de Janeiro offered to take them all the way to the Highway BR 101. If you get to the BR 101 hitchhiking south towards Florianópolis get much easier.
