Hitchhiking out
There are two great places to get out of the city on the A4 east and west. The first spot is on the “Leipziger Straße” – use Bus No. 21 “Chemnitz Center” (this is a shopping mall, not the city centre!) to Heidelbergerstraße. There are two petrol stations where you will easily find drivers to Dresden and Leipzig.
If you want to go west, rather use the buses to the station “Corinthstraße” from where you can walk to the petrol station on the motorway “Auerswalder Blick” – that will take another 20 minutes. From there you can easily hitchhike west and south.
