You want to get on the road in the direction of [[Cricova]] Most local hitchers go to the roundabout at the M2/M14/M21 intersection on the outskirts of the city. If you want to get to Bălţi or further north, stand on the M14 highway here. There is less traffic on this highway, but it is faster. For Orhei (and also Bălţi), stand at the roundabout just before the M2 starts. There are several lines which can take you on your way. == Places to avoid ==

Try avoiding policemen when wandering around with your backpack at night, as they will ask you questions regarding your place of stay. They can more or less force you into a hotel, or just simply annoy your time away out of boredom. Don't expect to 'chill out' at the train station, because they will ask you where you're going or send you away.
