Hitchhiking on Corfu is fairly easy, mainly due to the large number of tourists.  Unfortunately this also means that off season (up to April) hitchhiking is really hard. Corfu (Greek: Κέρκυρα, Kérkyra, [ˈcercira]; Greek: Κέρκυρα or Κόρκυρα) is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea.

Hitchhiking on Corfu is fairly easy, mainly due to the large number of tourists. Unfortunately this also means that off season (up to April) hitchhiking is really hard. Greek people are very reluctant to help out a stranger alongside the road, even with spotty infrequent buses. The good part is that there are buses and the bus stops are often also good hitchhiking spots (even though no one stopped for Guaka for about 1,5 hour).

Hitchhiking by standing on the road works perfectly fine.
