Crossable rest areas in Switzerland

In most opposite service stations in Switzerland it's possible and fairly easy to get to the other side. Quite a few coupled service stations have a pedestrian bridge, a car / pedestrian bridge or a bridge restaurant over them. There are often service roads and if you follow these, you get to the other side with a walk that most often does not take more than 20 minutes.

The following Swiss Raststättes do allow traffic to walk from one side to the other:

Autobahn A1

• La Côte, pedestrian bridge
• Bavois, car and pedestrian bridge
• Rose de la Broye, service station for both directions situated above the motorway
• Grauholz, car and pedestrian bridge
• Deitingen, walk about 30 minutes, crossable on the northeastbound direction with a tunnel
• Gunzgen, walk about 20 minutes, crossable between the (not exactly oppositely situated) service stations
• Kölliken, walk about 20 minutes, crossable between the (not exactly oppositely situated) service stations
• Würenlos / Fressbalken, bridge restaurant
• Kemptthal, service station for both directions situated on the eastbound side
• Forrenberg, walk about 10 minutes, crossable on the westbound direction
• Thurau, walk about 20 minutes, crossable on the eastbound direction
• Rheineck, pedestrian bridge

Autobahn A2

• Pratteln, bridge restaurant
• Neuenkirch, walk about 10 minutes, crossable on the southeastbound direction
• Gottardo, walk about 60 minutes / 6 km, crossable between the (not exactly oppositely situated) service stations most of it on the national road 2, which is hitchable

Autobahn A3

• Herrlisberg, walk about 5 minutes, crossable with a car bridge over one of the service stations
• Fuchsberg, pedestrian bridge
• Glarnerland, walk about 10 minutes, crossable on the southeastbound direction
• Bergsboden, walk about 10 minutes, crossable on the northwest direction, to the southeast service station, to the northwest parking only
