Flanders is the northern part of Belgium, where most people speak Flemish. Hitchhiking in Flanders is mostly pretty easy.

Language

Flemish has the same official dictionary and grammar as the Dutch spoken in the Netherlands, but with a slightly different pronunciation. Many people also speak English and French. There are strong Flemish nationalist tendencies so it might be better to approach people in English if you speak both French and English.

Various

There is an organization called Myoto that has the goal to promote hitchhiking.
