Take the bus H1 in the direction of "Spaalbeek", you can take this bus at various places in Hasselt, including the trainstation. The bus is free for people living in Hasselt, so just walk in, smile, say "Goeiedag!" and take a seat. Get out at the busstop after the highway entrance towards Antwerpen/Leuven and walk back 100 meters (the name of the busstop will come soon)!

It takes the bus about ten minutes from the trainstation to get there. It is probably the best hitchhiking spot in this direction, since the cars don't drive fast and there's a place where they can easily stop without blocking the traffic. Waiting times are on average 5 to 10 minutes.
