For current information regarding the gathering join and contact: Flavorpeach and mailing-list and Signal-group ( this days Mrmagicmax is inactive online and I don't have signal so the easier way to contact me ( Flavorpeach ) is by the mailing list/ my personal email/ discord/ matrix ( check my hitchwiki profil to find ways to contact me )
Ok so few days ago Mrmagicmax and me ( Flavorpeach ) talked on Matrix, Mrmagicmax is the person who started this dynamic of trying to have a gathering happen around new year's eve.
We kind of came to a conclusion than we should at least be a core group of 3/4 people to make a gathering happen and than at least few people are gonna be there for sure.
And than just before the gathering it may be a good idea to meet in a city nearby the location of the gathering, so people may feel more comfortable to meet first in an easier setting ( especially if the gathering location is a Cabin in the middle of nowhere in the mountain )
Right now there is no decision of location, just somewhere in europe ( or nearby europe ), around new year's eve, the location will depends on what the core group want and can find.
Mrmagicmax proposed a Cabin in Romania, me I'm more leaning towards trying to find a Cabin in the Alps or a nice place/spot/beach somewhere in west/south europe, we'll see, it's too early to tell.

Romania
There is an abandoned guesthouse called Cabana Valea Radului close to Făgăraș at around 1400m of altitude, see osmand for more information. Mrmagicmax found it while hiking in the area and gladly answers all your questions about it. It does not have running water or electricity, but a lot of space and all in all is in good shape. Drinking water can be obtained from the river next to the house - Mrmagicmax didn't get sick from it, yet. No dumpsterdiving spots in the area have been discovered so far. The house has a oven, but it was not tried yet, whether it is working. There is enough firewood in the forest around it. There is also a smaller shelter further up the mountain at ~2100m, called Refugiul Curmăturii Brațile, which some very adventureous people could try to reach. Access to the house was via a broken window and there were also traces of people using it as their home (A matress and a blanket, some dog poo on the floor), but no person could be found.

or a beach somewhere in south of spain, I think in the past years few of this pirate places have been evicted like the one with the hot springs, not sure

somewhere south
once we are a bit more people ( right now we are 3 involve in the organization of this gathering ) we could vote to choose a pretty warm place somewhere in the southern part of europe, set a date in a big city in the area and from there go with our own camping stuffs and find a nice place to camp. So low organization and more possibility for many people to choose because there is basicaly nothing to organize except choosing an area somewhere south and a date to meet in a city down there.
