Hitchwiki - we love participation
( Why this wiki - How we want to keep this wiki - Why we work on this wiki - How to participate - Hitchwiki needs you - Add a new page )

Spirit of cooperation

  • We want a democratic work environment, where we first try to decide by consensus.
  • We encourage active member participation and try to keep convivial work environments.

Transparency

  • As much communication and information is and will be available on the internet.
  • Most decisions are made and discussed in wikipages or the mailing list, both are accessible by everyone.

Open data

  • We want to keep database dumps available at all times.
  • We want to support open formats and standards, such as OpenID and microformats.

Free license

  • The content is licensed under the GFDL.

International

  • Given enough interest, people should be allowed to set up their own language version.

Not for profit

  • We don't want advertising. We would only accept it if other forms of fund-raising are not succeeding.
  • to build a reliable legal and organisational structure
  • Hitchwiki costs us almost nothing, so we don't need money and probably won't in the near future.
