I-85 stretches from Montgomery, Alabama to Petersburg, Virginia running through major cities in the South-east, including Atlanta, Greenville, Charlotte, Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point and Durham/Chapel Hill.
Be aware that many of these cities suffer from extensive urban sprawl (particularly Atlanta). Hence the name 'Charlantingham'(Charlotte/Atlanta/Birmingham) so catching a long distance ride from an Interstate on-ramp close to the city could be difficult. (?)
