Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukrainian: Івано-Франківськ) is a city in western Ukraine.

Hitching around

If you are coming from Stryj and going to Chernivtsi you can easily hitchhike around the bypass. It should work in the other direction as well. You can go from Ivano-Frankivsk to this cities: 1. Lviv - Go to the microdistrict Pasichna (trolleybus 1,4,6,8, and many buses), stop - "Radiozavod" (big green plant). Then ask people where is highway to Halych and Lviv (Ukr. "Halytske shosse"). 2. Kalush - The same way, Pasichna. But now ask Kalush highway (Ukr. "Kalus'ka trasa") 3. Ternopil - By trolleybus 2,9,10 or buses 61,73,81. Ask stop "Cooperator", than go to Tysmenytsia higway (Ukr. "Tysmenytska trasa"). Also you can get to the Kolomiya from this place. 4. Nadvirna - Its a main road to the Carpathians. You need get to the village Cherniiv by bus #24 and exit near gas station, its right after bridge over river Bystrytsia. Than ask people where is road to Nadvirna.
