Hitching Out

To Rzeszow, Przemyśl, Ukraine

Hitching from Krakow to Ukraine

Hitching in this direction is easy. Take minibus from main post office (corner of STAROWISLNA and WESTERPLATTE streets) to WIELICZKA (2,5 PLN ~ 0,7 EUR) and ask driver to let you out at the end of the city (the place where already Wieliczka starts). There is a bus stop and plenty of space to stop even a truck. See picture.

South and Southwest, towards Zakopane, Slovakia, Bielsko-Biała

Take the tram 79, direction Zakopianska, get out in the last stop, there is a small bus station. Walk direction south on Zakopianska for few hundred meters, then you will see a trafic light, after there is a bus stop where you can hitchhike.

To go to Bielsko-Biała, after 18 km direction Zakopane you need change the road to west, in to direction Bielsko-Biała.

West, towards Katowice, Germany

Take the bus number 238(also172 fromNowa Huta,Kraków North and Opolska street) until the stop "motel krak". You can hitchhike directly from the bus stop, it's just after a roundabout so cars and truck are going slowly. There is streetlight which alow to hitchhike at night. North, towards Warszawa, Gdansk

There are two common places: Start hitchhiking after overpass on Opolska street - you can get there by buses number 139,132,102,207-bus station name is"Opolska estakada",but these place is quite multitude,so I prefere to take the bus number 217,247,277 until the stop "Kuźnicy Kołłątajowskiej" - Generaly it's the end of the city - co all cars are going that direction - The question is only how far
