The Montreal Metropolitan is the urbanised area that includes the whole island of Montreal and Laval as well as the suburbs located in the Monteregie region on the southern shore of the St-Lawrence and of the Laurentides/Lanaudiere regions on the northern shore of the St-Lawrence river.
