Pécs is a beautiful city near the Croatian border.
When hitchhiking from Pécs to Budapest, take a local bus (240 forint, roughly 1 euro) to Budai Allomas bus stop. Although the road 6/E73 goes straight through Pécs, you simply won't get a ride inside the city. At Budai Allomas you'll get one fast.
