Direction Trieste and Italy

You have to take bus probably number 2 and travel to last stop. Then go straight and on the left you'll recognize beginning of highway. You have to go by walk on shoulder of highway to petrol station (around 1000 m) and you can ask people in this place. It is good road to Italy and Ljubljana and also to Austria.

Direction Zagreb

You have to take bus number 16 on Delta bus terminal, wich is 500m from teathre HNK Ivana pl. Zajca. On the bus ask the bus driver to leave you near the main statue. After that you must walk for about 2km and then you will reach pay toll. Its much more easier to hitchhike there because cars must slow down and they can see you easy. In general you wait there for 20min max. So its the best spot to get Zagreb and even directly Dalmatia.

Direction Pula and Istra in general

So, you have to take again bus, but number 22 and 23 (Direction Matulji). But these buses are on another bus terminal (you can ask everyone on the street, everybody knows). You can also ask bus driver to leave you on a bus stop near Euro Petrol (gas station). On the right side of gas station you will see the road wich guides you to the main spot. You have to walk less then 1 km till there.

Direction Ljubljana and Slovenia

One of the best solutions to get the border and in general Ljubljana etc is to take the train from main train station in Rijeka. You have to pay max. 3 euros ticket for Ilirska Bistrica (Slovenia) and after one hour long drive with train you have to walk from train station to the main spot. Ask local people there and they will show you how to come there. Its a 5-10 minutes walk from the train station. When you reach the spot you can easy get a ride to Postojna and then Ljubljana.
