To hitch south out of Bristol , you have to get to Junction 19 M5 ( by foot 9 km or bus 357 or 359 , £5 - ) and wait up to 2 hours to go South to Exeter , Plymouth .
On M5 in Somerset , Sedgemoor services and Taunton Deane services are less of a wait ( 30 mins North or South ) and slightly better than the next Junction 30 , Exeter Services .
Junctions at Weston , Bridgwater and Taunton are not so good for lifts on the motorway .
