The post regarding visa issues and "moldovan language with kirilic alphabet" is quite old already and has mistakes. there is no moldovan language, and it never was. As about visa issues: for EU, USA, Japan and some other countries visa regime was abolished starting 01.01.2007, citizens of these countries can saty in Moldova up to 90 days without visa. The rest of the countries need visa.

I researched what you said about "Moldovan." Thanks a lot for the tip. I do think it's worth mentioning that it is simply Romanian written in Cyrillic just to let people know that they are going to need to be familiar with that. Also, thanks for the visa update. I added it and checked on which other countries do not require a visa and added them. Zactalk 21:03, 30 April 2007 (CEST)

hello, I just corected some information regarding the socalled "moldovan language with kirilik alpahabet" - in Moldova we stopped to use kirilik since 1989, from that time we use latin letters. Dont be scare about dihotomy Romanian - Moldovan. Usually "Moldovan" is the language used spoken privately and orally, and has a quite different pronunciation than romanaian spoken in Romania (but this is not an impediment to communciate), it has words borowed from russian, but this words are not a part of the literature language, thus is considered a mistake when you pronounce them in official speeches and talks; when writing something or in the TV, Radio, Newspapers romanian is used, in the sense that you can not make any difference between media from Moldova and Romania (maybe some stilistical difference). In transnistria they still are using kirilik letters for "socalled" moldovan language, but there everything is quite hilarious and absurd.

Transnistria

Considering that 789 is around the corner we need an article about Transnistria. guaka 17:56, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Information on how to hitchhike

The wiki now says In order to hitchhike you must stay on the side of the road and raise your hand (so that the hand should be parallel with the ground), raising the thumb it is not used, although the driver, possibly, will understand what you mean. Don't hesitate to stop any car you see, just don't create some car accident situation.. I'm going to change this because I guess in this term it's not hitchhiking, but just using local transport / private taxis to go around. Anybody comments on this?

This way of hitchhiking is known as the local hitchhiking from town to town, where locals pay the driver some 5 to 10 Lei (acc. to the distance) when leaving the car (August 2009). When hitchhiking with the usual thumbs up, drivers don't expect money at all in most cases. This could be different for Transnistria. --Platschi 11:30, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
