I think it's even worse than what's currently written in this article. You will have to be outside of Schengen for 90 days to get your new 90 days. Until Switzerland is not part of Schengen you might be able to say that you spent 90 days in Switzerland, and then 90 days in the rest. But I'm not sure if that will always work. It's also unclear what the consequences of overstaying are. And I know many people who are overstaying. But it might be tricky. And yes, it's all ridiculous.
