22, living in Deventer, the Netherlands and hitchhiking since July 2011. Originally saw it as a cheap and fun way to get around, and of course a little bit to force people to think and hopefully decide differently than they're used too ;)
I enjoy beating my own records and trying to hitchhike as fast as possible without making any 'mistakes' which make me lose time. Basically I just love the tactics and strategy behind it all. Although sometimes of course it's nice to just enjoy being out, taking your time and letting luck take over.
Also hitchhiking to Warsaw, Poland on a regular basis, as that's where my girlfriend lives :)
I like:
- Wild camping
- Competitive autostop
- Rides in random directions
- Driving for my drivers
- Night hitchhiking (though my experience is limited)
- Meaningful conversations with drivers
I don't like:
- Using signs (no really...!)
- Long waits in hot places (who does?)
