Born in the Netherlands, in 1957. Hitchhiking I started around 1980. As a student. I kept on hitchhiking since. At different intensity.
In 1980 my tactics were: have a haircut, fresh cloths and not to big bag. I liked asking lorry drives for a ride. Worked out fine.
In 2008 I intensified hitchhiking as I had more free time, and less money. Hitchhiking back home in the Netherlands, after attending an open source conference in Paris, I was picked up by a "française". Patricia and I married in 2013: "C'est un belle histoire".
