It's good to welcome n00bs. "Besides the poor English grammar and spelling" doesn't seem like the best way to keep folks around. No need to mention that on people's talk pages. I'd rather see 10 weekly new contributors with poor grammar than 1 with flawless English :)
Great you're alert on the 1st person issue... keep up the good work! [[User:Guaka|guaka]] ([[User talk:Guaka|talk]]) 12:16, 14 October 2012 (CEST)

==Morocco caughts==
never used hitchwiki for talks so dont how actually it works, try to answer here what u wrote me about police. i was not "complaining" cause first i dont like doing it in general and secondly i dont think here is the place for that..sharing experiences and helping others is how i conceive this wiki, thats why i thought it was useful share mine. u r somehow right about my look/appearance, i didnt and dont like tourists in general, and morocco is overcrowded of them, that means (i guess u saw it) every 2 second, wherever, u r asked for rooms, hotel, any other tourist cheating stuff, they can clearly see u r european, especially with green eyes and white face, i was too bothered by that sort of racism (all around the world, everyone but ok..) and thought my djellaba, long beard and good enough arabic were a good choice to keep bothering people away, probably would have been enough answering them politely (as i did in iran, though persian people are so much calmer and insist less than arabs). these were the elements made police classifying me as sure terrorist, take my digitprints, etc when it was enough checking database on computer, asking few questions and let me go. iwas caught 3 times cause was not afraid nor suspicious by people and instead of looking for a spot by myself i always felt safer asking locals. once, the worse, in chaouen, they straightly called police and brought me at station, but others were the security man of the mosque (i asked for a spot for my tent and they offered me the inside school, but responsible for security didnt feel comf without authorization of cops) to call them, or them directly to come by me while hitchin, next to algerian border, with such ridiculous excuses. im sure as one hotel employee said me, main problem was that i was speaking arabic, and almost no foreigner do, that was surprised and made suspicious cops as locals though i thought and still think they are not friendly towards "vagabonds" (dont know what u refer to with that word, saying u dont like them, i used it cause cops called me in that way when i said them i didnt have any stable job but if u refer to freeloaders begging in the streets me neither i like them) that meant, unconventional tourists, hitchhikers especially (bikers normally are more understood). hope to have explained enough (though im never able to do it, especially at pc and in a foreign language). ill update again police section without any reference to personal exp that ill keep as u put it (giving more details). Hi Cristopher, sorry for late reply, never check it often the talks here plus it stopped to notify me via mail the changes don't know why so took even longer before i saw it and of course longer before i answered it.
Anyways, i saw you removed it already so i guess no problem.:) . I apologize for writing useless and disreputing things to your (may i dare to say our? it's not mine but i feel like this as well) project. I misunderstood and misinterpretated the section any useful info, and watching your talks i can see im not the only one..im sorry but must agree with stewgreen that "It seems to me that Hitchwiki should take on that role rather just be a specialist STRICTLY hitch info site .. already most of the info on the wiki is not to do with hitching and can be found elsewhere" but this is a personal opinion, and i don't care being right etc. As for moroccan caughts or any other disagreeing i think the best way is to find a shared solution, and in this case writing all this stuff on nomadwiki seems to me the best one (even though hitchwiki as such a bigger audience and at least for sleeping and blackriding i think it should keep its info)
I guess you also erased my part on Pamukkale more than 1 year ago and i guess the same should be done for Efes (http://hitchwiki.org/en/Selcuk) (just did it) being even more exhaustive than stonehenge. Im moving all this stuff on nomadwiki, if i hadnt misunderstood this too, there should be ok with illegal things (still curious about writing about shoplifting what do they think..) So nothing, just again sorry and ill write on hitchwiki only things related to hitchhiking, sleeping maybe also, though once also a spot i had written in copenhagen had been erased and couldnt see the reason..don't want to rewrite again, just save on mail what i write and copy it on other wikis.. cheers.
ps sorry for my bad english too..especially if in rush grammar or spelling may be really bad, at least im making an effort to avoid u and dont..;) ciao

Thanks for the suggestion; I've changed the first example you cited but not the second. "I didn't hitch on the roads in Musandam, but..." As I see it, either I need to include this caveat, or simply not mention hitching on land at all. Hitchwiki's greatest weakness is not the standard of writing; it's when people portray speculation as fact. It doesn't really make sense to include something like that in the 'personal experiences' section either. I guess I could have put "this writer has never hitched on the roads..." or "Tonypro thinks it's likely..." But I think what's currently written conveys an important bit of info in the best possible way, as much as I would love to support an academic standard of writing on Hitchwiki.
My feelings won't be hurt if someone else changes it, but I'mma leave it alone.
