Hey, welcome on hitchwiki and thanks for your contributions :) --MrTweeksite, wikitalk 09:39, 21 December 2007 (CET)

Syria

Interesting story about the police. Did not had any of this occasions. Once a driver left me at a traffic police post, and the police offers there even stopped a truck for me going my direction. Where is the city you've been located? In the Golan hights it obviously is not allowed to hitchhike, so the soldiers there forced me into a minibus as well when I was on my way back to Damascus. --Platschi 11:44, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Standard form?

Where did you find the "standard form" you mentioned? "Northwards" and "North towards" mean drastically different in English. The initial hitch-out directions will usually be altered by chosen routings.

Yay for simplification

I really like how you simplified Denizli :) guaka 23:39, 4 October 2010 (CEST)

I kinda like what you did with Mestia but I wonder if there is really nothing interesting in there? Also, it might be good to check the other contributions by Wrv1983 and let him know what contributions we wanna see and what contributions we don't wanna see... guaka 21:53, 9 October 2010 (CEST)

  • That content was moved to the page for Zugdidi, a more appropriate place for it IMHO. I'd rather articles for city X not contain details for how to get there from city Y. That sort of information belongs rather on the article for city Y. CRCulver 22:12, 9 October 2010 (CEST)

Chernivtsi

Thanks for your update. I changed it again and I hope now it is easy to understand. Too late yesterday ;) --N0id 17:46, 13 October 2010 (CEST)

Wikitravel-like stuff

Little idea... I don't think this piece about Morocco qualifies but other Wikitravel-like stuff could be good for Couchwiki at times. guaka 14:19, 26 November 2010 (CET)

Hi Chris, saw you removed some spam and I found out you didn't have sysop rights here. You have as of now :) You will see the "block" link next a user's contribution so feel free to block spammers in the future. guaka 14:19, 15 September 2011 (CEST)

Vietnam

I think you removed a bit too much from Vietnam. Also good to wait a bit before removing stuff new people added, I would be discouraged myself if people started removing half of the first things I added to a wiki. It'd be better to rewrite or at least leave the useful bits (such as "Nonsờ has barely ever waited more than 30 minutes with over 50 rides in the country"). And maybe added the removed bits to the talk page? guaka 14:01, 5 October 2011 (CEST)

Deleting spammers/spam

Replace the "Content was...." with just "Spam", so that as little info as possible remains for search engines. Prino 00:03, 25 December 2011 (CET)

Louisville and USA city additions

Hey CRCulver, I am sorry. I have never hitchhiked Nashville or Louisville. However, with Louisville I could probably look at a bus route map and post how to get to some pretty good and busy spots where one could try to hitchhike. I will make that a project of mine for the next few days. I hope you will post your own experiences in those places once you get to them. Good luck.

I haven't gotten much time to dig into it. Just got a little boat reparation job in Key Largo and have had less time. I've checked out bus routes going through Louisville and the appropriately-numbered Bus 65 will take you up I 65 to where I 65 and I 265 intersect. That'd probably be a good location for hitchhiking as you'd catch all the traffic coming off the circle and heading up towards Indy. But this could be rather complicated if you get dropped off near a bus stop that is far away from the Bus 65 connections. Hope that helps. Good luck!
