: hey, i don't know...gives me a good overview of times needed from place x to y, average rides on different routes etc. See for example Enschede-Hörstel, 60km,but inkl. border crossing, highway, no service stations, but nearly never takes me more than 1hour and almost approx. 3 lifts...and it's kind of addiction, collecting more and more kilometers ;D platschisite, wikitalk 14:00, 30 August 2008 (CEST)

Hi Platschi! I tried to change the boxes but cause I didn't have a hitchwiki account when I wrote them , I can't edit them. The owner is anonymous. So, find the city calles Jyväskylä. There are 3 thumbs in the map, the wrong texts are: "E63/9/23 westwards..." should be "E63/9/23 east- and southwards...". "West- and southwards..." should be "East- and southwards". I'm such an idiot sometimes :). Btw, do need some help translating the phrase book in Finnish? I could do that if it hasn't been done yet. Anyways, thank you for your help! Annika

Hey Ralf! Welcome on hitchwiki, cool to see you here :) I guess you have something more to contribute ;) --MrTweek 10:02, 25 June 2007 (CEST)

Another welcome! :) I'm looking forward to your contributions! You can sign messages on talk pages with ~~~~. Guaka 20:41, 25 June 2007 (CEST)

Hey, When you were hitchhiking in Serbia did you do a lot of camping? I'm a bit concerned about camping in places like Serbia and Croatia, where they apparently have unexploded mines still lying around in various places. Do you know if these are quite common and/or if the areas are closed off or what? Thanks! :) It'd be nice to camp out in the wild there but I don't fancy having an 'explosive' time!

Hey Platschi! Thanks for your welcome message:) Sorry if I'm writing in the wrong place. I just discovered hitchwiki, what an amazing resourse! I am planning my first-ever hitchhiking trip to Western Europe in April-May. It is a bit scary, but I'm finding a lot of useful information here. As of yet, I don't have much to contribute, but wait till I get there! :=)) --Serge Kosh 21:36, 19 March 2008 (CET)

Sysop

We don't really have a policy about this, but MrTweek and I decided to "promote" some more people to sysops on the wiki. Of course we noticed your great contributions and decided to make you into a sysop :) Check project:administrators to read (a little bit) more about this. Guaka 21:08, 7 August 2007 (CEST)

Thanks! :) (Not sure if I'm posting my reply in the correct place here.) How was hitchhiking in the Balkans? Do you recommend solo hitchhiking at all? I'm starting to wonder if hitchhiking by myself for my first time could be a bad idea and become lonely, but I'm sure it would give me more opportunities for meeting people along the way! Nice to feel welcome

Hey, Platschi!

My pleasure writing to Hitchwiki. The more people know, the better are the trips - more they travel and more drivers trust us : ) Let's make hitch-hiking big like "in the old days" some drivers mention : )

Merry Christmas and safe travels! Rein

Hey Platschi! Thanks for the welcome-message! I am completely new in contributing in wikis, but it's nice to see it works! See you some day in real life (-: cee

Eh Thanks a lot, I was just at the same time reading and trying to create my first region table... so it has been doubled. Way not managed to make it look like yours... anyhow I don't think I will ever try to make table or impossible things as such anymore. Maplefanta 18:21, 30 December 2007 (CET) BTW, my skype username is the same if that would ease talking... Maplefanta 18:32, 30 December 2007 (CET)

hi platschi! thanks for your welcome message. i discovered hitchwiki three days ago. good idea! sometimes navigation is a bit difficult. hard to find the correct buttons. for example, how can i send you a private message/mail? congratulations to your serbia hitching! i crossed the country in 2003 on my way to istanbul (spielfeld-istanbul 3 days in the same truck) and hitched in 2004 from southern serbia (usce) to prishtina. in september 07 i was in sandjak and crna gora. still wild country in many aspects. if you cross thru regensburg, show up for a coffee. cheers, scheuer.

questions

- is this a riddle? i can not get this... ;-) --Alex 01:34, 27 February 2008 (CET)
No, we just had a driver who was riding that fast. :-) platschisite, wikitalk 14:03, 27 February 2008 (CET)
By "riding fast", you mean "driving quickly". In English, "riding" is used to for bicycles, horses, or motorcycles, but not cars. Anyway, that is fast! :) amylin

Of course you know that in that view, it will bring you some self-estimation but if you give that number for geographical studies, it become very useful, some people studi hitchhike they are searching that kind of numbers MiSha 14:55, 2 September 2008 (CEST)
