: Hey, Paxus. First, I actually do sign usually; however, since it [[Category_talk:Hitchhikers|was requested]] to have a ''hitchwiki team'' signature, I obeyed to that and abandoned my initial one. Second, thanx. Third, you have always a great freedom of choice - ''The Netherlands'' user category on your page can be deleted or replaced with a new country (of your new location) category; in case of one's nomad lifestyle one can leave only the ''Category:Hitchhikers'' then, no problem. Peace and love, --[[User:Sigurdas|Sigurdas]] 23:11, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Hej Romuald! Welcome on Hitchwiki and thanks for your contributions :) --MrTweek 09:04, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Heya, welcome here. Nice photos - I see you like hitching in winter :) --Robino 10:27, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

he, welcome to the wiki! thanks for your photos and contributions to Sweden! I just deleted your uploads of the Swedish flag, it already existed inside the wiki at Image:Flag_of_Sweden.png. Throughout some misunderstandings, we have most flags in the wiki in the format "Image:Flag_of_X.png", some of them "Image:Flag_X.png". A bit confusing ;) Anyway, good work, and have fun hitchhiking! --Platschi 16:39, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Nice that you became so active. But please delete the 'rewards' you gave to Platschi, MrTweek and Guaka. This is harmful for what we have been creating here. You didn't even put arguments why you want that - you just assume this is 'good'! Please also change the categorisation of hitchhikers. I rather see it deleted again and then ask everyone first before doing something, even before changing the categorisation. We are a very active community here with a lot of engaged hitchhikers. For arguments, please refer to the discussion-pages. Also, please refrain from making yourself look better than others (in reference to your user-page and you being an admin). You might also want to consider taking that away. Hitchwiki is different from things like couchsurfing and wikipedia. What you do might even have the opposite effects of what you aim for Robino 15:08, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I commented regarding awards template on its discussion page, regarding hitchhikers category - on its talk page. The Template:Admin is widely used elsewhere on wikis and I see it as a helpful tool to see who is who which helps other users to recognize a person who can help them with some questions. However, if on very ideological HitchWiki it is seen as some sort of racist segregation and obvious self-proclamation I totally agree with abandoning its use. --Sigurdas 19:47, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Wow, Robino, you sound like an administrative power here. But in the end, I also re-learned to appreciate our beloved Veit :p. "Also, please refrain from making yourself look better than others (in reference to your user-page and you being an admin)." Hehe, reminds me of the fact that I changed my status in Abgefahren eV from regular user to "Ehrenmitglieder" :p (member of honour) which anyone can just set himself or herself to... (!!) --Fverhart 20:14, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't think Robino sounds as an ultimate administrative power - I can understand that he and other older users/admins really want to develope HitchWiki in its own specific, ideological way different from many other major wikis, and since they put so many efforts in it and obviously care about it, it is probably not so smart to come out of nowhere and destroy their perception of how wiki collectives should work. I totally have respect for that, even though I might disagree on certain things. --Sigurdas 22:11, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
You will have to! I do not see though what is so highly ideological about this wiki. And I do not think that admins see that either. This is just a wiki about a topic of some sorts. --Fverhart 08:46, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it's just a collaborative website and community about a free form of transport. Only usually people in communities feel the need to instigate a lot of rules (Wikipedia) or their founders feel the need to get (a lot of) money out of it and never let the community fulfill it's potential (Casey, Veit) or a combination of both (Wikitravel).
So actually there are quite some differences. Anyone can get the database (and fork) and anyone coming up with a cool idea can start working on it within the Hitchwiki framework. But of course, fortunately it still works for anyone who considers Hitchwiki a plain "wiki about a topic of some sorts" :) guaka 10:29, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

BTW, Siguardas! Thanks for all the great work! And a little bit of (transparent) "controversy" is good at times. It fosters discussions. I like it. And even though I might not be around, I hope you can make it down to Casa Robino some time soon :) guaka 10:32, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Questions related to categories

First, i want to encourage you to put signatures on your posts, i like it anyway, i think most people do.

Second thank you for going thru and tagging all the national destinations of all the hitchwiki users, this is a headachy job and it make s the site more usable.

Third, i am not sure the Netherlands is a very good choice of country to be identified with. I only plan to be here another few days befor egoing to Bareclona, i will be back for a few weeks in Jan and Feb, but i certainly dont consider the Netherlands my base. I think of myself as more nutopian or something.

And i dont feel any great need to change you edit, since countryless is less useful (perhaps) than being form a place that currently at least is here.

Be well, become better

Hey, Paxus. First, I actually do sign usually; however, since it was requested to have a hitchwiki team signature, I obeyed to that and abandoned my initial one. Second, thanx. Third, you have always a great freedom of choice - The Netherlands user category on your page can be deleted or replaced with a new country (of your new location) category; in case of one's nomad lifestyle one can leave only the Category:Hitchhikers then, no problem.
