Valenciennes

Close to the border with Belgium it is at the intersection of two major motorways, the A2 to Paris and the A23 to Lille. The city itself has a beautiful old-town with museums, several universities and a buzzing nightlife. North of the city, there is a beautiful regional park with loads of nature to explore.
