Gedser

Gedser is a place in Denmark, where you can take the ferry to and from Rostock. Ferries are every 2 hours from 7:00 to 21:00, cars can take up to 9 passengers, if you buy a ticket it will cost 14 euros. For the timetable look at http://www.scandlines.dk/DKFront/Front_COM

There are no good places to stand to hitch, but just out of scanlines ferry terminal there is a place you can stand just before a street to the right and cars have the possibility to stop. (basically walk away from teh ferry next to where the cars are driving and you will see it) Trucks must stop and pay the toll for the road so it is possible to ask drivers, DK trucks are not allowed to take passengers so focus on other trucks

If you get stuck there is bus 39 that drives to Nykøbing falster which costs 5 euro and is the only transport in Gedser. There is no bus between 11pm and 4am. It can be easier hitching from Nykøbing F because there are more cars.

From Gedser the closest city is Nykøbing falster then Nørre alslev and after the bridge you are on sealand. Petrol station are located from E47 towards Copenhagen at Tappernøj and Karlslunde.

The E 47 turns into the E 55 once you are over the bridge from Falster island.
