I am Kyle: 22 years old and living in the United States. I hitchhike because it is an affordable mode of transportation which lends itself to a minimalist lifestyle of adventure and exploration. My goal is to develop a working mental map of North American geography through direct exploration of trails, navigable waterways, and roadside landscapes. I accomplish this on foot, by kayak, and especially by hitchhiking. I began hitchhiking regularly in 2011. Half of my time is spent traveling and the other half working to fund my travels. My home-base is Santa Fe, New Mexico. All of my hitching experience has been in the United States and Canada (besides a very brief attempt in Costa Rica).
